History
Our curriculum intent for history is that children will:
- develop a coherent knowledge of Britain’s past and that of the wider world in a chronological narrative,
- gain historical perspective,
- understanding the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and the relationships between different groups, own identity and challenges of their time and
- develop a wide historical vocabulary.
A great history curriculum is very important at Courthouse. Our history curriculum enables the children to acquire the knowledge they need from the past to understand how they can have a positive effect on the future. It is an integral part of our curriculum design because knowledge gained from history underpins wider reading and all other subject areas.
