Design Technology
Our curriculum intent for design technology is that all children will:
- use a wide range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks.
- appreciate how key design events and individuals in design and technology have helped shape the world.
- have a good understanding of the design, make, evaluate process.
Once each term a day is set aside for children to complete a range of exciting design technology projects. The skills learnt in design and technology not only provide life skills (e.g. cooking and building) but also offers the opportunity to develop/embed knowledge that supports learning across other curriculum areas. For example: children's knowledge about the properties of materials links closely and builds on work done in science.
