Healthy Snacks Initiative

From September 2025, only healthy snacks will be allowed during break and lunchtime. Many children consume unhealthy snacks, affecting their health, concentration, and contributing to litter. We follow the example of other local schools in Berkshire. Please support this initiative by providing nutritious snacks and discussing healthy eating at home. We are also a NUT free school due to allergies.

Example Snacks:

  1. Vegetable sticks (celery, cucumber, peppers, carrot)
  2. Cheddar cheese or Babybel
  3. Fresh or dried fruit (pineapple, mango, kiwi, raisins, apricots, blueberries, banana slices)
  4. Bread sticks, plain pretzels, banana bread, malt loaf, oat/rice cakes, small pitta breads
  5. Homemade snacks (flapjacks or other oat/whole grain-based snacks, nut-free)
  • Ensure children stay hydrated by bringing a named water bottle daily. Squash and fruit juice are not permitted. With your help, we can encourage healthy eating habits that improve children's quality of life.
