The Courthouse way

Every child flourishing

Our aim at Courthouse is for every child to flourish.  We strive to create the conditions for staff flourishing, for family flourishing and for community flourishing so that the children of Courthouse are well rounded with individual areas of expertise and choices open to them for the next phase of their education.

Our values are kindness, choices, belonging and adventure

Our Values
What This Means in Practice
Kindness We cultivate an environment where mutual respect is paramount. We understand that practising kindness makes our schools wonderful places for all to learn and work, and is essential for positive mental health and wellbeing.
Belonging We prioritise creating a deep sense of community where every child and family feels they are integral to Alwyn and Courthouse. When children feel they belong, they are happier, safer, and better positioned to flourish.
Choices We empower our pupils to become confident, ethical decision-makers. As children progress, we teach them the importance of distinguishing right from wrong and developing the courage to do the right thing, even when it presents a challenge.
Adventure This value drives curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to embrace the new. We empower children to try challenging things, ask deep questions, take safe and sensible risks, and learn constructively from mistakes.

Our rules relate to our value of making choices too: be readybe respectful and be safe.

Our aim and values set the tone for our priorities which include:

  • Understanding the world
  • Every child, every day
  • A calm and purposeful environment
  • Looking after our community
  • A strong start
  • Growing our own

Visits to Courthouse are warmly welcomed and we look forward to seeing you in school.
