The Year 5 team leader and class teacher in 5B is Miss Bunce. Miss Masters is the class teacher in 5M and Miss Betts in 5T.
English and Maths are taught in four ability sets in every year group. Our fourth teacher in Year 5 was Mr Knight, our Deputy Head, who taught his Maths group and his English group in Year 5 every day in the Autumn Terms. He has now moved to a school near Leeds and we welcome Miss Windle as our new fourth teacher in Year 5 and also in the Deputy Head role.
This Year 5 page will feature general Year 5 news and also classroom displays and pupils' work in English and Maths. The most recent posts to this page will be at the top. Occasionally a whole new web page will be used to report an event (eg last year, for the Tudor Day).
To see class based work you can use the class links in the Pupil drop down menu.
To see class based work and photos from previous years, you can go to the Archived Pages side bar menu to the left.

We had a session in the science room exploring various aspects of rivers and also visited the Thames and Rowing museum. We had hoped to walk to the nearby Marsh Lock but couldn't because of the extensive flooding. At least we saw the flood plain in action!
There is an album of photos on 5B's web page (at the bottom of the page) and also and album of photos on 5T's web page.

TUDOR DAY in school - Fri 13th December 2013
In Year 5 we have been studying the Tudors throughout the Autumn terms. On Friday 13th December we had a Year 5 Tudor Day in school to mark the end of the topic and to have fun doing various Tudor based activities. Dressing up was not compulsory and lots of us did wear something appropriate for Tudor times.
The Year group were divided into four groups and spent most of the day on these four main activities:
Making and baking Tudor biscuits with Miss Betts,
Making woven paper baskets with Miss Bunce,
Writing in the Tudor style with Mrs Fitzpatrick and
Learning some latin with Mr Knight.
Here are a few photos from each activity and there are lots more in the Photo Albums at the bottom of this page.
