School Meals are prepared on site daily, from fresh ingredients and to the highest standards. Dolce are our catering company and as a Junior school we have a primary school menu currently at a daily cost of £2.20 for two courses, main and dessert. Pupils having a plated meal can choose from the salad bar without further cost.
The meals run on a three week cycle and the menu changes for the autumn, spring and summer terms. A copy of the weekly menu for the Spring Term 2018 can be seen below or downloaded at left if too blurry for you to read (in "Related Documents").
There are also regular 'special days' to celebrate events and add further variety to the food on offer. Parents also get the chance to sample meals on several occasions over the year, notably 'Grandparents Day', 'Mother's Day' and 'Father's Day lunches'.
Pupils can also bring in their own packed lunch and guidance on this can be found below (Healthy School).
The decision to have a school meal can be taken daily and pupils choose from the menu each morning at registration and paid for online on 'Live Kitchen'. Tap water is available free of charge for all pupils.
Healthy School Status
As a 'Healthy School' we encourage pupils and their parents/carers to take a responsible attitude towards the mid-day meal and abide by our rules. This means a lunchbox containing healthy, balanced food items, no chocolate or fizzy drinks and limited salty snacks such as crisps.
Breaktime fruit / water.
Pupils are encouraged to bring in a snack for breaktime, comprising a simple, single piece of fruit (or small container of grapes or blueberries for example).
Water bottles are encouraged in school and can be filled from chilled water dispensers to be found in three ground floor locations.
