Our curriculum intent for history is that all children will:
Develop a coherent knowledge of Britain’s past and that of the wider world in a chronological narrative
Gain historical perspective
Understanding the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and the relationships between different groups, own identity and challenges of their time
Develop a wide historical vocabulary
A great history curriculum is very important at Courhouse. Our history curriculum enables the children to aquire the knowledge they need from the past to understand how they can have a positive effect on the future. It is an integral part of our curriculum design because knowledge gained from history underpins wider reading and all other subject areas.
